Do you own a website? If so, you are probably looking for ways to get visitors to your site. Utilize the e-mail system. If you have done this before with little success, you need to know that e-mail marketing is quite successful. If it weren’t, people’s inboxes wouldn’t be slammed full with them. Sales are made through e-mail advertisements and newsletters. However, you may need a little help getting that success for yourself.

Two Tips to Obtain Subscribers –

Remember, the only way e-mail marketing can work is if you have subscribers. If there is a minimal amount of people who get your e-mail, then the chances of your sales being strong is low. If you are looking to increase your subscriber base, you have two options.

- Keep e-mail sign up boxes on every web page.

If you want visitors to subscribe to your newsletter, you don’t want them to hunt for that e-mail sign up link. Place it on every single web page you have. If you fail to do this, they may not take the time to look for the link and you lose the business.

- Advertising special offers – available only to newsletter subscribers.

What you offer as a special incentive depends on your business but makes sure visitors to your website know how to become a subscriber. The best place to put this data is next to the special offer advertisement.

Two Tips to Keep Subscribers –

Many webmasters believe the hardest part of e-mail marketing is getting subscribers. However, the actual hardest part is keeping those subscribers. You can lose subscribers if your one e-mail is nothing more than just advertisement. You want to keep those e-mails entertaining. You don’t want them to unsubscribe to your advertisement or newsletter. By following the two guidelines below, you can not only get subscribers but keep them.

- Above all else, content is most important. Every e-mail you send out must have unique data inside of it. Make sure the content is related to the business of your site. Don’t go off subject or advertise for other businesses in your e-mail.

- Make sure the e-mail you sent cannot be considered complete advertisement. While you can include this, it should never be the primary part of your e-mail. In fact, advertisements should not take more than one-fourth of your e-mail.

I just don’t get it you know, day in day out I read on the forums, hear others talking and even get emails from people who are struggling to make this whole ‘online business’ thing work. There are many, many people out there who just aren’t getting to where they want to be in their online business and are literally “spinning their wheels” slaving away for hours upon hours before work, after work and even during work! Without any significant results.

How do I know? Because I was in this exact situation once and let me tell you now, there is a way out of it and it’s not as hard as you think!

Some of you may be in this situation and some of you may not but the point is, doing business online isn’t easy but isn’t impossible either. The problem that I consistently come across is that those people who are just getting started online and even people that have had some success are making this business a lot more complicated than it actually is.

You’ve probably heard the term “information overload” or “analysis paralysis” being thrown around on various marketing forums and let me tell you right now, it is real, and if you’re someone that is effected by this its only going to get worse unless you do something about it.

Why I hear you ask?

Well for newbies that are just getting started and those that are struggling online, it seems like every day brings a new tool or new product or fancy whiz bang piece of software or whatever that promises the world and then some, and people are getting snowed in by all the latest miracle techniques, that they spend most of their time hunting around the net and the forums trying to keep up with what the ‘gurus’ are doing because hey after all they’re the ones that are making all the money aren’t they?

The truth is that there are some great products being released every day to help internet marketers make more money, but unless these products fit into your current plan and where you are with your business right now, you have to stamp out that urge to buy every product you lay eyes on.

For example you don’t want to spend 2 days learning how to start a SEO consulting business when you don’t even have your own highly ranked website and have no experience in SEO, do you? You would be better off spending that time learning SEO and implementing into your own website first so you know that you can successfully offer it to others.

The same goes for all the other tips and strategies that are out there that you think you should be learning, like:

Link building
Blogging
Web 2.0
Squidoo
Ppc
Affiliate marketing
Squeeze pages
Copywriting
List building
Up sells
Down sells
One Time Offers
JV’s
Product splintering
Social media
Social book marking…..

You get the point.

Don’t get me wrong all of what’s mentioned above are great methods and techniques to bring in more traffic, sales leads, customers etc but only when they are implemented into your business at the “right time”.

You better read that last sentence again.

Now to the good news!

There is a cure for “information overload” and “analysis paralysis”

I want to introduce to you my 3-step formula for a successful online business. Its not rocket science and I didn’t invent it (sorry) but im sure you’ve heard of it before and it changed my business once I took this information and acted upon it.

Traffic + Conversion Funnel + Product = Successful Online Business

I want you to print that out or write it down and put it next to your computer where you can easily see it, so next time your mind is making everything seem much harder than it actually is you can read it and get back on track.

Yes it looks simple, but it works and it’s the foundation for building a successful online business whether it be a $1000 per month niche site or a 7 figure empire. Build your business around that formula and there’s no doubt you’ll have a successful business in no time.

Owning a successful internet business really is as easy as those 3 steps above, sure there’s a whole lot more to each of the 3 steps and we could go through all the sub-steps to each one but the important thing is to not let yourself believe its harder than it actually is. Once you have a source of traffic, you can send it to your sales page, and once you’ve figured out how to convert that traffic into buyers you have a sale, and once you have a quality product that customers won’t send back to you for a refunded, you’ll have a happy customer and then you have a successful business. Now it’s just a matter of scaling it up and implementing systems to control each aspect of your business.

Think about it, it’s exactly the same as the good ol’ “bricks and mortar” businesses at your local mall.

For example, Mary has a shoe shop at the local mall, its one of the smallest shops in the complex but that doesn’t bother her because she’s positioned herself well to get the most amount of people walking past her shop (traffic). Those who come in for a new pair of shoes try a few different pairs on and eventually make a purchase based on Mary’s recommendation (conversion/sales message). Mary only sells quality shoes in her store (product) so her customers are always thrilled with their purchase and will have no hesitations in buying from her again.

See the similarities between both the online and offline business world? Is your business working as well as you would like it to be?

Is it because you’re focusing on those things that you’re not ready for yet? Are you trying to tweak sales copy on a site that has no traffic? Are you sending traffic to a poorly converting sales page? Identify where your machine is broken and work on getting it fixed, asap! Your profits will skyrocket as a result!

Let me know how you get on!

So 2009 is here already and with it brings fresh ideas, fresh plans and a desire to do things bigger and better than last year. One of the things that i do at the beginning of every new year is spend a day with a pen and a pad away from the PC and empty my brain as to what i want to achieve in the twelve months that will follow. No matter how small or how big these dreams and goals are I write them down and then work through them from start to finish to prioritise them in the order that i want to achieve them.

Something that i noticed after i spent a few hours writing down and planning my goals for the year is that continuity income will be a major revenue stream for me during 2009. Now its not that i want only build membership based websites this year but rather all of the sites I plan to build will have some kind of continuity or recurring income stream built into them.

I’m sure you’ve had it drilled into your head time and time again that you must have a continuity program offered on the backend, but the fact is most people know this but they just simply don’t do it! For some reason people think that continuity is creating a membership site that sells for $47 per month. Wrong. Yes this is a great business model and it works brilliantly but it works just as well if not better on existing sites. “Oh but Nick i just have a mini site selling a $17 ebook, i can’t create a recurring income for this” That’s plain BS! If you have a website that sells an information product, adding a continuity program to your back end and offering it to existing customers is the easiest way to boost you revenue from that site. Read that last sentence again just so it sinks in!

that i offered as an product on my site. I literally spent that day (and some of that night) creating the membership and had it live the next day. The initial offering to my customer list was great with many deciding to take up the discount lifetime Here’s a little case study for you, one of my niche sites has been ticking away quite nicely for around 2 years earning a nice little income off the sale of a $27 ebook. Late last year i decided to pay some more attention to this site and try boosting the income. The first thing i did was created a simple 45 minute dvdupsell at a cost of $47. Instead of just hosting the video on the site i offered a it as a physical DVD and shipped it through Kunaki. It worked brilliantly. I left it like this for a while untill i stumbled upon Kyle Tull’s overnight membership site product. After going through his video course i was shocked at the methods and strategies he uses to easily create quality mini membership websites in no time flat. If you thought you needed expensive software, loads of content and even more time to put together a membership site, you don’t! Ther are quicker, easier and less time consuming ways to create a membership site. After going through his course i came up with the idea of creating a continuity offer for my existing customers of this particular site and offered them the opportunity to join as a charter member for only $10. Many existing customers took me up on this offer and from then on i promoted it solely as a backend product that sells for $19.95 per month. The end result of the the upsell DVD and the continuity offer…

I tripled the revenue of this one website!

Remember, if you have an existing product that you are selling you are in pole position to simply plug in a membership component to your sales funnel and start enjoying the extra profits. It doesn’t have to be a fully fledged membership site it can be something as simple as offering your existing customers an affiliate product that pays a monthly commission through your autoresponder or even setting up your own membership program using only an autoresponder sequence… Now that’s got you thinking hasn’t it!

I found Kyle’s Overnight Membership Site course so good that i bought the rights from him, so if you want to discover how you can build a continuity program literally overnight in any niche market make sure you check it out.

If you haven’t done so already, write down some goals that you want to achieve this year. Print them out in the order you want to achieve them, stick them in your office and make 2009 your best yet!

If you want an email marketing campaign to be successful, it should be designed well to have any effect. Unfortunately, more and more people are unlikely to open up e-mails from those people they do not know thanks to spammers. Those webmasters who are legitimately sending e-mails have to make them snazzy to get recipients’ attention. Webmasters must still do what they can to get their message across while making the e-mail stand out from spammers’ e-mails.

There are six tips you can utilize if you want to grab a potential consumer’s attention through e-mail marketing. Using these tips below can minimize the chances that your email will be filtered into the spam box or be deleted without being looked at.

Personalize It – The difference between spammer e-mails and legitimate e-mails is that spammer e-mails are never personalized. If you want do e-mail marketing, make sure you address them by name. Readers will know that the e-mail being sent to their address was the one they asked for.

Specific Designs – A way to ensure your e-mails are distinguishable from spammer e-mails is to design them like your website. If you have a logo, place it on top of every e-mail. The fonts and colors you use on the website should be uniformed on your e-mail. You can even take it a step further by using a layout similar to your website.

Same Design All The Time - When you are e-mailing folks, keep the same look every time. If you keep changing the look of your e-mail, it will look unprofessional and you will begin to lose your subscriber base. By using the same look, those subscribers will know that it’s your e-mail not a spammers.

Write Well – Make sure the content you have is spelled correctly and that periods are added to the end of sentences. You also need to keep your readers entertained and motivated so they do not unsubscribe to your e-mails. If they are very interested in the e-mails, your subscriber base can grow larger by word of mouth.

Importance of Landing Pages – Make sure the landing pages that your subscribers go to is pleasing to look at. They should also load fast. This goes for people who are on slower connections, too. These pages should not contain flashing graphics or large images.

Frequency of E-mails – You’ll need to send out e-mails, usually once a month. If your business requires it, you may want to send them out more often. To get some ideas, subscribe to your competitors’ list.

Do you want to build a super responsive list for your business that will put money in your pocket on auto pilot? If so check out my
